Elliot Minchella: Hull KR captain signs three-year extension

Hull Kingston Rovers captain Elliot Minchella has signed a three-year contract extension with the club.

The 28-year-old loose forward has been rewarded for his influence on the Robins’ superb 2024 season, when they recorded their highest Super League position by finishing second.

They also reached the Grand Final, where they were beaten by Wigan Warriors in his 100th game for the club, a year after losing the Challenge Cup final to Leigh Leopards.

Minchella has been a key figure in Rovers’ rise to being a major force in English rugby league, winning his first England cap this summer and also being named in the Super League Dream Team.

Minchella has been with the Robins since 2020 after spells with Leeds Rhinos, Sheffield Eagles and Bradford Bulls.

Head coach Willie Peters says his personality away from the pitch has been as key to the club’s recent success as his competitive presence on it.

“We wanted to lock down Mini for a long period of time,” Peters told the club website, external. “He’s our captain and he’s our leader.

“He’s played a big part in the club’s journey and helping us to get where we are at the moment. It’s not only what he does on the field, but what he does off the field.”
